You or your child has just been diagnosed. What now?
Please choose from one of the two options below to determine your next steps. The first option will explain how you can determine if Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy (ABA Therapy) and Progressive Behavior Consulting LLC are covered under your insurance plan.
Step 1. Call your insurance company (the number is usually on the back of your insurance card) and ask them about coverage for Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy (ABA Therapy). This way you can find out what the costs of therapy will be to your family. You will also need to ask what documentation they need to authorize service with a provider (this should lead you to step 2).
Step 2. You will likely need a copy of the diagnosis sent to your insurance company. You will also need a referral from the pediatrician or your own general practitioner for ABA services. For Tricare patients, a Vineland-II is required periodically, and this can be obtained by a psychologist. It is recommended that all of this information be gathered as quickly as possible, and faxed in to your insurance company at the same time, as this makes for a cleaner process.
Step 3. Let your insurance company know that you would like to work with Progressive Behavior Consulting LLC. If we are in network with your insurance company, then a provider representative should contact us via phone or fax and deliver an authorization. However, it is beneficial to call us to make sure we receive what we need.
Step 4. When we receive the authorization, we will contact you to set up an appointment!

Note: Unfortunately, we do not bill insurance companies when we are not “in-network” with them. But you as a member have the ability to bill your own insurance company and request reimbursement for services if this is applicable to your insurance plan.
